Sing a Song of Seasons!
– Robert Louis Stevenson, A Child’s Garden of Verses

Our 58th Labor Day Music Festival Orchestra Concert will take place on Sunday, September 1st at 3:00 pm on the lawn at the Guilford Organ Barn, 158 Kopkind Road, Guilford, VT.

Ken Olsson will conduct the Guilford Festival Orchestra in works celebrating the seasons of the year. Highlights include Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring” and Samuel Barber’s “Knoxville, Summer of 1915” plus works by Vernon Duke, Scott Joplin, Edward MacDowell, Nick Humez, Kurt Weill, Tommy Wolf, and more. We welcome Tricia Suriani, soprano soloist in “Knoxville.” We will end with the traditional audience singing of Randall Thompson’s “Alleluia.”

The grounds will open at 2:00 pm for picnicking; bring your blankets, lawn chairs, food and drinks, relax and enjoy the ambiance.

In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Broad Brook Community Center; announcements will be made by mid-morning Sunday by email, on Facebook, and on the FOMAG voicemail message.
